Mission
It is the mission of IBHT to provide learner centred training in a professional and holistic manner. Qualified tutors, who are dedicated to continual professional development, deliver all training. IBHT strives to provide the Health and Beauty industry with skilled therapists, capable of working to the highest standards.
Course Qualifications
All diploma courses lead to International qualifications accredited by the VTCT and/or ITEC awarding bodies. Both VTCT and ITEC have been in existence since the 1960's. They are based in the UK but are world renowned - colleges all over the world use VTCT and ITEC qualifications. Over 50,000 people a year qualify through the VTCT making it one of the largest awarding bodies in the world for beauty and complementary therapies.
It is the aim
Aims
It is the aim of IBHT that all students graduate highly skilled. To facilitate this IBHT provides a Simulated Working Clinic, where students get the opportunity to practise on members of the public, this enables students to gain a wide range of experience and competency. Beauty Students will be trained in the Dermalogica range of products. This range was chosen due to the company's own holistic approach to skin care, its superior range of products and its unequalled support through the International Dermal Institute. Students will receive training that reflects the management systems, commercial and professional standards required for them to advance into the workplace with confidence and proficiency. Great consideration is also paid to all aspects of health and safety and of course business awareness for those who aspire to running their own business. The Simulated Working Environment is a fairly new concept here in Ireland, and establishments able to offer this facility are limited.
Practical class places are limited to a Maximum of 12 students, so early application is advised. The small class size ensures that each student gets adequate individual attention from his/her tutor. In return this enables the tutor to modify and adapt the training to each students needs. It is the aim of IBHT to produce quality therapists and not quantity.
Staff Profiles
Sinead Murray, B.Sc (hons) Physiology, ITEC, VTCT, MIRI, MFHTI, Dip. Ed
Sinead is a Director of IBHT. She is also the Department Head of Complementary Therapy Training at IBHT. She is highly qualified with a BSc (hons) Degree in Physiology. Over the years, Sinead has gained many therapy qualifications, her NABTET teaching diploma and VTCT Assessor Award. As well as being an experienced tutor, Sinead has her own practice. Sinead teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Reflexology, Nutrition, Indian Head Massage, Health & Safety and Stress Management as well as related CPD courses. Committed to providing high standards in services and training, she also attends regular training courses for her own personal and professional development.
Odel Grant Kelly, CIBTAC, VTCT, Dip. Ed
Odel is a Director of IBHT. She is also the Department Head of Beauty Therapy Training at IBHT. Odel started her commerical career as Montessori School owner & teacher. She then opened her own Beauty Salon and worked as a free-lance trainer. Her time in the Beauty Industry has been dedicated to providing highest standards of services and training. Odel teaches Beauty Therapy, Anatomy & Physiology, Indian Head Massage and many CPD courses at IBHT. She has gained many further qualifications including her City & Guilds Teaching Diploma and VTCT Assessor Award. She attends regular training courses for her own personal and professional development.
All staff are NABTET (National Agency for Beauty, Therapy, Education & Training) qualified, having been successfully awarded the Diploma in Education (Dip.Ed.)
All IBHT Staff are extremely committed and motivated to promoting standards in industry and training.
